City leaders will terminate its E-911 agreement with the county if their reduced monthly payment offer is rejected.
Both boards have been going back and forth with their payment agreement with the communication service.
The city currently pays $12,500 for its monthly contribution to the E-911 agreement with the county.  
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen agreed Monday to send a letter to county officials stating that the city would pay $10,000 a month.
“It is fitting for us to offer $10,000,” said Alderman Dr. Jack Varner. “Take it or leave it. If they’ll take the $10,000 (offer), I would assume we’ll stay in.” -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
