County considers creating dog rules

County officials are being asked to consider a dog ordinance after a child was viciously attacked on Racetrack Road.
Tommy Irvine, chief investigator for the Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department, told the Board of Supervisors Monday that local law enforcement cannot take adequate action when there is a dog that proves to be a problem.
Irvine described the recent incident in which the dog attacked the child.
