JonesJonesBy JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

William  H. “Bill” Jones, who served as the county’s purchasing clerk for three decades, died Sunday at age 81.
“He was a delight to work with,” said Joanne Strickland, who became Yazoo County’s purchasing clerk when Jones retired in 2003. “He was truly a kind man.”
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Jones began his career with the county on July 1, 1971. During that time the purchasing clerk’s office was located at the county barn.
