The town of Bentonia was forced to removed lighted crosses from its water tower, but the cross may soon shine higher and brighter than ever before.
Private fundraising efforts are underway to erect a 170-foot tower with 10x20-foot crosses on private property. The new crosses will be 30 feet higher than the original and will feature brighter LED lights. Plans also include a security fence.
