Officer escapes knife attack unscathed

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

A Yazoo City police officer’s training paid off Sunday morning as he fended off a knife attack without being injured.
Tedric Levinson is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer after swinging a knife at an unidentified officer several times.
“The officer narrowly avoided serious injury because the knife actually brushed up against his throat at one point,” said Capt. Larry Davis. “He almost stabbed the officer several times.”
