FRANCES CAMERON
Frances Ann Cameron, 77, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Friday at Ogden Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial followed at Ogden Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cameron was born June 5, 1934 in Midnight to Frankie Allen Cheney and Annie Berle Sibley Cheney. She was a homemaker and a member of Holly Bluff Baptist Church, where she served as a pianist, organist, Sunday school teacher and youth music director.
Survivors include her daughter, Monna Becker (Harry) of Easton, Md.; son, David Cameron (Dianne) of Satartia; two sisters, Genevia Powell of Bentonia and Thelma Spence of Pearl; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Tommy Quimby, Dale Sibley, Caleb Sibley, Lynn Sibley, Calvin Sibley and Wade Spires.
Honorary pallbearers are Norman Powell, Hilmar Sibley and Don Parks.

COREY HAYMER
Corey Terrell Haymer, 31, died April 17, 2012.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the L.T. Miller Community Center. Burial followed at Yazoo Memorial Park under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mr. Haymer was born Oct. 2, 1980 to Vernon Livingston and Delphine H. YIsrael. He was last employed at Delta Glass and was known as the CEO of Grindhouse Entertainment.
Survivors include his wife, Latoya Dorsey Haymer; daughter, Makayla Haymer; mother, Delphine YIsrael (Ahviyya) of Hermanville; five sisters, Lavern Haymer, Victoria Fields (John) and Travanda Ellis (Drake), all of Vicksburg, and Mahyem and Yahkeemyah YIsrael, both of Hermanville; two brothers, Mekhell and Appiah YIsrael, both of Hermanville; paternal grandmother, Corinthia Dixon of Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers wer L.C. Toombs, Donnell Morris, Lamar Johnson, Terrell Thomas, Daniel Pettway and Charles Watt.

ROBERT KIRKLAND
Robert Earl Sir Bob Kirkland, 55, died April 14, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at New Zion M.B. Church with Rev. W.E. Smith officiating. Burial followed at Traveler’s Rest Cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mr. Kirkland was born Oct. 16, 1956 in Yazoo County to John Hillard Kirkland and Mary Lee Johnson Kirkland. After graduating from high school in Yazoo City in 1976 he earned a diploma in cosmetology in 1979. In 1980 he earned his master’s license in cosmetology. In 1985 he earned an instructor’s license and served many cosmetology schools until 2003. He was a member of New Zion M.B. Church.
Survivors include his brother, Eddie B. Kirkland (Janice) of Yazoo City; a sister, Maggie Heard of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Jacob Sheriff, Ronnie Hall, Carl Bunch, Ottaway Broomfield, Cobie Collins and Robert Fisher.

BETTYE FAYE POWELL
Bettye Faye Powell, 79, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Thursday at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Rayborn Freeman officiating. Burial followed at Short Creek Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell was born Nov. 6. 1932 in Satartia to Marlin L. and Vadie Olivia Riser. She was a manager at Wal-Mart and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a grandson, Bradford Powell.
Survivors include two sons, Joey Powell (Karen) and Earl Wayne Powell, both of Yazoo City; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Shayne Kirk, Brent Martin, Steve Martin, Jeremy Martin, Justin Milner and Bubba Martin.

DOROTHY SADLER
Dorothy Nell Parker Sadler, 89, lovingly known as “Nana”, died April 22, 2012 at the Martha Coker Green House.  
Funeral Services were April 24, 2012 at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Bentonia with Reverend Skipper Maxwell, Reverend Martin Case and Nephew Elton “Buzzy” Cummings officiating. Stricklin-King Funeral home  handled the arrangements.  Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
She was born on December 16, 1922 in Harrisonville in Simpson County and later moved to Germania with her family.  She graduated from Satartia High School and the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Vicksburg and later moved to Bentonia after her marriage to Richard Curtis Sadler on December 31, 1944.  She was a registered nurse and long-time employee of Kings Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City, Ms and a member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Mary Elizabeth Ponder Parker;  her husband of 44 years and the love of her life, Richard Curtis Sadler; great granddaughter, Caroline Elise Coleman;  sister, Mary May Wesley, brothers, Barry Parker, Jack Parker, Mulford “Mutt” Parker, Arthur Parker, and F. G. Parker;  Eight sisters-in-law with whom she had a bond that’s shared between real sisters; Myra Sadler, Doris Hildebrand, Aletha Cummings, Ollie Lee “Tot” Hancock, Camille Renicker, Rena Hildebrand, Charlene Lancaster, and Thetis “Teto” Fuller.  
She is survived by her children: Richard and Louise Sadler of Nesbit;  Cynthia and Linus Shackelford of Brandon, Mary Jane and Cecil Coleman of Bentonia; Grandchildren, Beth Sadler, Andy and Renee Sadler, Melissa Lee, Sharon and Keith Plunkett, Laura and Peyton Canard, Daniel and Bonnie Coleman, and eight great grandchildren: Jordan Lee, Kaylan Cuti, Isaac Plunkett, Rickey Plunkett, Coleman Canard, Cooper Canard, Mary Crawford Canard,  and Parker Coleman; sister, Mildred Parker Arias, and sister-in law Maye Parker.
The family extends a very special thanks to Dr. Walter Burnett and the staff at the Martha Coker Green House for your wonderful care.  Nana’s greatest fear was having to live in a nursing home.  Thanks to you, she lived her final days with more love and support than she could have ever imagined and felt as though she was at her own home.  She left this world in the arms of her Lord and Savior and in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

JOSEPH THOMAS
Joseph Thomas, 46, of Yazoo City, died on April 16, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church of God and Christ in Yazoo City under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
