Miss Edgar to wed Baker in May 12 ceremony in Yazoo
Abbie Elizabeth Edgar and Tony Glen BakerMr. and Mrs. Archie E. Edgar of Yazoo City announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Abbie Elizabeth Edgar, to Tony Glen Baker, the son of Mrs. Vicky Baker of Southhaven and James Baker of Saltillo.
Miss Edgar is the granddaughter of Mrs. A.E. Edgar Jr. of Yazoo City, the late A.E. Edgar Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hearst of Benton.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Wakham of Drew and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Baker of Saltillo.
Miss Edgar is a 2007 graduate of Manchester Academy and a 2011 graduate of Delta State University, where she earned the bachelor of science degree in nursing.
At DSU, she was a Dean’s List Scholar and a member of the Student Nurses’ Association and Tri Delta Sorority.
Miss Edgar is a registered nurse at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.
The prospective bridegroom is a 2007 graduate of Indianola Academy.
He is currently pursuing a degree in the John Deere Ag Technician Program at Northwest Community College in Senatobia, where he is on the President’s List. He is employed by Wade Inc. in Pontotoc.
The couple will be married May 12, 2012, in a 5:30 p.m. ceremony at First United Methodist Church in Yazoo City. The Rev. Matthew Morgan, brother-in-law of the prospective bridegroom, and pastor of Morgan City Baptist Church, and the Rev. Bill Poole, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Yazoo City, will officiate the double-ring ceremony.
A reception will follow at the Benton Country Club in Benton.
