ELIZABETH ANN SHORES
Funeral for Elizabeth Ann Shores, 82, were at 11 a.m. April 17, 2012, from St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Patrick Noonan officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 4, 1920 in Yazoo City, Mrs. Shores died April 13 at King’s Daughters Hospital in Yazoo City.
She was a retired clerk and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Mrs. Shores was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Shores.
Suvivors are a daughter, Jennifer Clare Shores of Madison; two sons, Ray Shores of Bentonia and Justin Shores of Lancaster, Calif.; a sister, Catherine Thomas of Yazoo City; and seven grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were William Thomas, Justin Shores, Chris Fredrich, Ray Shores and Gilbert Vanloon.

HENRY LAMAR SCARBOROUGH
Henry Lamar Scarborough, 88, of Yazoo City, died April 13, 2012, at St. Dominic in Jackson.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. April 15 from the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Jennings officiation.
Burial followed at Concord Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Scarborough was a retired board operator at Mississippi Chemical Corp. and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Additionally, he was a Marines veteran Army Merchant.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nona Blanche Scarborough; his parents, Dow and Maude Scarborough; and two brothers, Irvin Scarborough and L.D. Scarborough.
Survivors are a daughter, Ann Briggs of Yazoo City; a grandson, Jason Stroupe of Austin, Ariz.; a granddaughter, Neely Stroupe of Yazoo City; two sisters, Dorothy Riser of Memphis, Tenn. and Vadiene Kent of Slydell, La.; a brother, John Scarborough of Edwards; two great-grandchildren, Laina Steyer of Florida and Saxon Stroupe of Yazoo City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers were Larry Calder, Aubrey Johnson, Wiley Saxton, Lewis Williams, David Chisolm and Steve Stevens.

WILLIE H. COLLINS JR.
Funeral services for Willie H. Collins Jr., 58, were 1 p.m. April 14, 2012, from the Scott Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Henry Collins Jr. officiating.
Burial was at Day Cemetery with Scott Memorial Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Collins died April 6.
He was the son of the late Laura McColler Collins and the late Willie H. Collins Sr.
Mr. Collins was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his brother, J.W. Collins.
Survivors are his siblings: Mary Brown of Yazoo City, Henry Collins of Benton, Allice Moten of Benton, Elnora Evan of Chicago, Willie Mae Rattler of Jackison, Bertha Collins of Jackson, Howard Collins of Benton and Carl Collins of Benton.
Serving as active pallbearers were Sylvester Brown Jr., Darryl Brown, Anthony Rattler, Alfonzo Rattler, William Collins, Joey Jones, Jason Brown, Cedric Collins, Andre Rattler, Chris Baker, Keith Haralson, Howard Simms, Willie Jones Jr., Charles Dixon and Xzavian Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers were Henry Collins Sr., Howard Collins, Carl Collins, Joe Evans, Willie L. Jones Sr., Julius Lee Strong, Charlie McNeal Jr. and Milton Moore.

ROBERT LEE THOMAS
Robert Lee Thomas, 91, died April 5, 2012, at Oasis Health and Rehabilitation Center in Yazoo City.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. April 11 from Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie E. Smith officiating.
Mrs. Thomas was a member Chapel Hill M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Albert Thomas,; daughter Willie Mae Brent; son Richard  James Brown; brother William M. Newkirk Jr.; three sisters, Willie Mae Martin, Silvia Rean Jeffery, Eula B. Harris and Ella Mae Fox.
Survivors are three sons, James Brown and Joe Louis Brown, both of Chicago, and Thomas Earl Brown of Brundidge, Ala.; two sisters, Anna Newkirk of Pontiac, Mich. and Marie Christmas of Yazoo City; two brothers, Cleola Newkirk of Chicago and Alfred Newkirk of Benton; 10 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Her nephews served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were James Brown, Joe Louis Brown and Thomas Earl Brown.

NETTER J. REED
Funeral services for Netter J. Reed, 88, were at 11 a.m. April 14, 2012, from Lintonia Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Yazoo City with the Rev. Jerome Posey officiating.
Burial was in Cypress Garden under the funeral directions of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Reed died April 7.
She was a member of Lintonia Chapel AME Church. She was the wife of the late Norman Reed.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Rosie Clayborn and Carrie Brown; and three brothers, Jack Ingram, Steve James and Theodies James.
Survivors  are three sisters, Annie Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Alice Scott of Yazoo City and Elizabeth Generette of Yazoo City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Arthur Linberger, Claybon Haymer, Walter Johnson, Manual James, Courtney James, Cornelius James, Jerome James and Greg Johnson.
Serving as active pallbearers were Cedric James, Jessie Jones, Homer Jones, Nathaniel Jones, James Evans, Johnnie Jones Jr., Derrick Brewer and John Generette.
