Board gives resident more time for clean-up

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

One property owner broke down in tears last week as she begged city leaders to give her a little more time to clean her property.
Stella Cobb, owner of 725 E. Madison St., appeared before the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for the second time over the past few weeks to request an extension in cleaning up her property.
The property has an deteriorating house on it with a roof that is open to the elements.
Cobb told board members that she is trying to clean out the aging house whenever weather permits her to do so. She was given a notice in December to have the property maintained within 90 days.
