Miss Allison to wed Phillips on April 28
Ms. Kaye Shepherd Allison of Benton and Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Coleman Allison of Oxford announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Laura Beth Allison, to George Wade Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Barry Thomas Phillips of Brownsville, Tenn. and the late Mrs. Brenda Moore Phillips.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Margaret Truitt Shepherd and the late Mr. Albert Dwight Shepherd, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Russell Allison, of Charleston.
A graduate of Manchester Academy, she received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders from the University of Mississippi. She also received a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from Jackson State University.
She is a speech language pathologist at the Manhattan Nursing Home in Jackson.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Doris Phillips Marsh and the late Mr. George Lee Phillips of Humboldt, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Raymond Moore of McMinnville, Tenn.
A graduate of Haywood High School, he received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University. He will receive his Doctorate of Pharmacy at the University of Tennessee in May 2012. Upon graduation, he will be a pharmacist at CVS pharmacy in Yazoo City.
The couple will be married on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Oak Hill Stables in Oxford. Dr. Doug Broome, pastor of First Baptist Church in Natchez, will officiate the double ring ceremony.
A reception will be held at Oak Hill Stables.
