The Triangle Cultural Center will welcome another art exhibit with the arrival of 25 pieces from local artist George Dixon.
Menagerie of Media on Canvas will debut with an opening reception Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Triangle. The exhibit will continue until the end of April.
“The great thing about George is he is a local,” said K.K. Hill, Triangle director. “Everybody knows George, but a lot of people may not have gotten a chance to see his art.”
The idea first sparked when Dixon approached Hill with a request in February.
“He told me he thought it would be a good idea to have a black artist exhibit for Black History Month,” Hill said.
Dixon was shocked when Hill immediately refused his request.
