The signs of spring can be seen all over Yazoo this time of the year. But the flowers at the Martha Coker Green Houses are truly a sight to see. These beautiful iris plants began as a bulb from Marshall and Lynn Burnett’s former home in Flora. The bulbs were brought to the Luse House when Mrs. Lynn was admitted as a resident. The plants have transformed the red clay yard into lush garden. The bulbs were first thrown over the fence when Julie Hoffman, director, set the flowers up on a rainy Good Friday in 2009. Three years later, residents, staff and visitors have enjoyed the beautiful flower garden.
