Spring has arrived

The signs of spring can be seen all over Yazoo this time of the year. But the flowers at the Martha Coker Green Houses are truly a sight to see. These beautiful iris plants began as a bulb from Marshall and Lynn Burnett’s former home in Flora. The bulbs were brought to the Luse House when Mrs. Lynn was admitted as a resident. The plants have transformed the red clay yard into lush garden. The bulbs were first thrown over the fence when Julie Hoffman, director, set the flowers up on a rainy Good Friday in 2009. Three years later, residents, staff and visitors have enjoyed the beautiful flower garden. The signs of spring can be seen all over Yazoo this time of the year.
