Benny “Kay” Warrington will return to his seat as justice court judge after Tuesday’s special election.
Warrington regained his seat with 1,133 votes while Danny Neely, who has held the judge position for a few months, earned 764 votes.
“It has been a tough battle,” Warrington said, after taking his oath to office Wednesday morning.
The Southern Justice Court District seat has made headlines for months after Neely was ruled the winner last November over the incumbent judge by a single vote.
