Resident asks county to clean up property

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

A Yazoo County resident asked the Board of Supervisors for help in dealing with a property he says has become a health hazard.
Eddie Joe Alias told the board he has been trying without success to get something done about an empty and overgrown home that is next door to a relative off of U.S. Highway 49 near the Jehovah’s Witness Church.
“I went by the Health Department, and I couldn’t get in touch with anyone with any authority,” Alias said. “There are snakes and rats and everything else over there.”
