CALE BYRD
Cale Byrd, 73, of Lexington died Tuesday, March 27, 2012.  
Funeral services are today at  2 p.m. at  Hebron Methodist Church in Lexington.  Visitation will begin at 12 noon prior to the service also at the church. Burial  will follow in the church cemetery.

MARY FONVILLE

Mary Florence Williams Fonville, 67, died Friday, March 23, 2012 at her home in Richland.  
Funeral services are today at 1 p.m. at Jesus Name Tabernacle. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Chancellor Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fonville, a longtime member of Jesus Name Tabernacle lived in the Florence/Richland area for nearly 50 years. She was a homemaker that enjoyed arts and crafts and was active in the Exchange Club of Richland.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, John “Danny” Fonville of Richland; sons, David Fonville, Mark Fonville and Maurice Fonville all of Richland; daughter, Kimberly Fonville (Mike Sivils) of Richland; Brothers, John, Thomas, James, Edward, and Charles; sisters, Juanita, Nancy, and Shirley; 7 grandchildren, Shane Fonville, Lane Sandifer, Ryan Fonville, Jesse Sivils, Morgan Purser, Ashley Fonville, and Aaron Fonville; 1 great grandchild, Skylar Floyd.

PATRICIA JOHNSON
Patricia Ann Johnson, 42, of Yazoo City, died March 18, 2012 at the Oasis Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services were March 24 at the L.T. Miller Community Center with Rev. Maurice Allen officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Scott Funeral Home.
Patricia was born on Aug. 19, 1969 in Yazoo City to Georgia May Cathey-Johnson and the late Earnest Johnson.
Survivors include her mother; four children, Miranda Johnson of Louise, Darius Johnson of Cleveland, Jonathan Johnson of Dayton, Ohio and Tequila Johnson of Yazoo City; six sisters, Margaret, Gwendolyn and Pamela, all of Yazoo City, Diane of Los Angeles, Amy and Bobbie Johnson, both of Georgia; four brothers, Earnest Johnson Jr. of Detroit, David Johnson of Los Angeles, Donald and Edward Johnson, both of Yazoo City; four grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan Johnson, Darius Johnson and Cornelius Johnson.
Pallbearers were Earnest Johnson, Edward Johnson, Denzel Johnson, Donald Johnson, David Johnson and Derrick Johnson.

JOHN METTS
John Pillow Metts, 85, died in his sleep at his home on Broad Lake in Yazoo City on Monday, March 26, 2012.
He was a body donor to University of Mississippi Medical Center. A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Metts was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Casswell Metts and Gladys Oliver Metts and sister Elizabeth Metts Chambers.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Priscilla “Pro” Odom, daughters Martha “Bookie” Metts Graeber of Destin, FL, Ryan Metts Allen (Bill) of Madison,  Eileen McCain Sherling (Amzi) of Fairhope, Ala., sons Robert F. McCain, Jr. of Cedar Crest, NM and Talbot Odom McCain (Gay) of Greenwood; brother Col. Albert C. Metts, Jr. (Betty) of San Antonio, TX and brother-in-law David Chambers of Nashville, TN. He had 12 wonderful grandchildren - Tal, Ali, Shannon, Rankin, Alex, Rebekah, Kelly, John Patrick, Charlotte, John Clark, Reese, and Elliott, one great-grandchild, Natalie McCain, his a very special friend, Flint Liddon, and his beloved Puppydog.
John was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14. He graduated from Clarksdale High School in 1945 and attended Ole Miss. In 1947, he was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. He traveled all across the United States for many years as a salesman and later in life had the wonderful opportunity to manage the Yazoo Country Club, where his smile and good sense of humor were loved by so many.
