Fouche Apts. building project closer to becoming a reality

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

The Housing Authority continues to plan for its public hearing with the upcoming building project at the Fouche Apartment Complex.
After a meeting with county, city and housing officials, the project is one step closer to reality.
The Fouche apartment buildings are slated to be demolished. Single-family housing units will then be constructed on the property.
The Housing Authority appeared before the Board of Mayor and Aldermen earlier this month asking for the board’s support in its desire to take in acreage of Campanella Park.
There was mixed emotions among city leaders about encroaching upon the local park.
