Lexington woman killed during storm

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

A Lexington woman died during the severe weather that pushed through the area earlier this week.
Ella Pernell died after a tree fell on her mobile home late Wednesday afternoon.
Dexter Howard, Holmes County coroner, said he and his deputy coroner responded to the storm-related fatality.
“A big tree fell on her mobile home,” Howard said. “The home was split in half, with the tree landing right on her.”
