Mr. and Mrs. Matthew GreenwoodMr. and Mrs. Matthew GreenwoodMr. and Mrs. Matthew Greenwood of Yazoo City were united in marriage on March 10, 2012 at Tulane Baptist Church with Pastor Gilbert Andrews officiating the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Donnie Moore of Joliet, Ill. and Mary Wills of Yazoo City. She is the granddaughter of the late Eula Cummins and the late Mark Wills.
The groom is the son of James and Clara Greenwood of Yazoo City. He is the grandson of the late Wilson and Flora White.
Given in marriage by her father and son, Ty’Rom Wills, the bride wore an ivory halter top chiffon wedding gown with a cathedral train, trimmed in diamonds, with a tiara headpiece.
She wore a matching diamond set of earrings and bracelet.
Serving as matron of honor was Cortney Williams Greer, best friend of the bride.
Serving as maid of honor was Femeka Hoover, best friend of the bride.
Serving as bridesmaid and junior bridesmaids were Windy Gates, Arneisha Hollins, Shinequa Brown, Loretta Greenwood, Lydia Lakes, Ta’Melya Baker, LaChyna Gates, Asia Lakes and Destiny Greer. They wore ivory and malibu party dresses. They carried bouquets of ivory roses.
Alyssa Greenwood served as flowergirl. She wore a flower print ivory dress.
Ta’kei Wills served as ringbearer.
Serving as best man was Dwayne Woodard, best friend of the groom. Serving as better man was Alvin Martin Sr., best friend of the groom.
Groomsmen were James Greenwood Jr., Carlos McCullum, Maurice Daily and Ken Robinson.
James Wills served as usher.
The bride’s mother wore a ruffle beige dress with a flower shoulder.
The groom’s mother wore an off-white two piece dress.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the L.T. Miller Community Center.
The bride’s cake was a five tier ivory fantasy cake.
The groom’s table was decorated with burning candles set with malibu blue colored plates and ivory roses. The chocolate cake was trimmed in malibu blue with an initial monogram.
Cakes were served by Fredia Haywood. Others assisting with serving were Shirley Jones, Catherine Burns, Rakiya Ward, Versae Lee and Britanni Sibley.
Fredia Haywood and Shirley Jones also served as wedding directors.
Out-of-town guests included sisters Shekila Moore of Chattanooga, Tenn., Latoya Moore of Chicago, Maikala Moore of Bellwood, Ill., cousins Pamela Young of Memphis, Patrice Moore, Talana Moore and Denitta Nunnery of Chicago, Jackie Robinson of Bellwood, Ill. and uncles Micheal Moore and Robert Holmes of Chicago.
After a honeymoon, the couple will reside in Yazoo City where the groom is a construction worker.
