ROY GUZMAN
Raul “Roy” Guzman, 77, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral Services are today at 11 a.m. at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Franklin Cemetery in the Franklin Community.
Mr. Guzman was a cattle buyer with MS Livestock Producers for 19 years and with MS Order Buyers for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maria Gonzales Guzman and Jose Guzman.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Haley Guzman of Pickens; sons, Jimmy Guzman and David Guzman of Madison, Tony Guzman of Pickens; step son Pepe Cisneros of Pickens; Foster sons, Bryce Collins and Marqueece Collins of Pickens; Daughter Jennifer King of Florence; Foster daughter Courtney Hogan of Pickens; 4 grandchildren  and 6 great grandchildren; Brother Florencio Guzman of Nowellton, La.; Sister Angie Ramirez of Harlingen, Texas, Connie Lamora of Raymondville, Texas and Buela Cavazos of Vidalia, La.

LAWRENCE MARTIN SR.
Lawrence Brent Martin Sr., 85, of Benton, died on March 12, 2012 at his residence.
Services were held Wednesday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home with Rev. James Buie and Rev. Harlan Francis officating. Burial followed at Cross Roads Cemetery in Yazoo County.
He proudly served in The U.S. Navy in World War II. Lawrence spent 35 years of his life employed with Dr. Pepper/Pepsi Cola in Yazoo City, Greenville and Jackson where he started as a route driver and later held positions leading up to plant manager upon his retirement in 1988.
Always the most important part of his life was his involvement with his church and his relationship with the Lord. As an active member in every church he and his loving wife, Elaine, attended, he has served as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member and Choir Director.
He is preceeded in death by his wife of 61 years Elaine Evers Martin who died September 23, 2009. He is also preceeded in death by his parents, Curtis Charles Martin and Mary Etta Williford Martinl four brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors include his children Brenda (Robert) Magee of Pearl, Brent (Delisa) Martin Jr. of Florence, Michael Martin of Benton and Sue (Jerry) Palmer of Brandon; grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Quick, Jennifer (Lance) Stone, Rob (April) Magee, Matthew Magee, Jason Martin, Amy (Jeremy) Williams and Dawn Martin; and nine great grandchildren.
Pallnearers were Jason Martin, Rob Magee, Matthew Magee, Jimmy Evers, Jason Quick and Lance Stone.

CONNIE MILLER
Connie Mae Miller, 52, of Yazoo City, died Feb. 28, 2012.
Funeral services were held on March 5 at Chapel Hill M.B. Church with Rev. Johnny Dodd officiating under the direction of Scott Funeral Home.
She was born on March 9, 1959 in Yazoo City to Laura Miller Kyles and Charles Kyles.
She accepted Christ at a young age and joined Chapel Hill M.B. Church. She was married on Feb. 8, 2003 to John Albert Banks.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Marquita Miller, Jessica Miller and John Miller, all of  Yazoo City; four stepchildren, Turkesha Washington and Albert Banks of Yazoo City, Tonya Banks of Hebron, Ind. and LaKendrick Billingsly of Belzoni; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Sharon Miller Cathy (Monroe), Patricia McIntyer, Murian Sheppard and Charlene McIntyer (Jeffery), all of Yazoo City; six brothers, John Miller and Lee Sheppard of Yazoo City, Romeo Miller of Canton, Eddie Wilson and Willie Miller of Chicago and Kevell McIntyer of Jackson; and a host of family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers weer Darrius McIntyer, Willie Miller, Eddie Wilson, John Miller, Rerell McIntyer, Albert Banks and Jeffery Whisenton.
Pallbearers were Floyd Banks, Walter Banks, Allen McIntyer, Percy McIntyer, Cortney McIntyer and Freddie Cooper.

MOLLY PRICE
Molly Price passed away on March 11, 2012. She was born on January 10, 1940 in Yazoo City, MS and attended Yazoo City High School. Molly was a former employee of Home Health Services of Gary. She was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church, and served on the Mother’s Board, Willing Workers Ministry and attended Sunday School.  She was preceded in death by parents Tom and Easter Windfield, and brother Tom Winfield Jr. She was survived by her loving family 2 brothers Albert Windfield of Gary, IN; Leroy Windfield of Chicago, IL; sister Earnestine Parker of Gary, IN; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation Monday, March 19, 2012 from 9 to 11:00am. Funeral services immediately following at 11:00am  all services at St. Mark M.B. Church, 4632 W. 21st Ave. Officiating Rev. Arthur Smith. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery.
