LAURA CANNON

Laura E. Cannon, 74, died Sunday, June 20, 2010.
Funeral services were Wednesday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Lammons officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Cannon was born Feb. 17, 1936 in Humphreys County to Stewart L. Holloway Sr. and Ida Belle Boyd Holloway. She was a retired seamstress.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Michael Scott; her first husband, Reuben Earl Scott Jr.; a grandson, Kristopher Todd Scott; and her second husband, George W. Cannon Sr.
Survivors include a son, Larry Scott of Yazoo City; daughter, Vicki Scott of Byram; two sisters, Elizabeth Harrison of Jackson and Lewis Dow of Indianapolis; three brothers, Martin Holloway of Brandon, Stewart Holloway of Brandon and Cordell Holloway of Jackson; seven stepchildren, Linda Hoover, Laura Rinaker, Liana Smith, George Cannon Jr., Gene Cannon, Becky Cameron and June Alonzo, all originally from Oregon; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Larry Scott Jr., Wesley Bright, Jake Scott, Casey Davis, Brian Weeks and Charlie Scott.
