City accepts county’s terms on rubbish pit

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

City leaders accepted the terms by the county this week involving the interlocal agreement of the city’s rubbish pit.
The county will pay the city $4,500 a month for usage of the newly purchased rubbish pit. The contract will run from this month until the end of September, when it will be revisited for renewal.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen accepted the request during its open meeting Monday.
The city initially asked the agreement to fall under a four-year term. But the county asked that the agreement end on Sept. 30, 2012.
