A registered sex offender who was released from jail last year is already back behind bars.
Julian Sims, 28, of Yazoo City, is charged with statutory rape and sexual battery.
Sims, who was 27 years old at the time of the crime, has been in trouble numerous times before with sexual crimes against juveniles.
“He was just released out of jail last year on similar charges,” said Cpt. Tilmon Clifton. “This arrest involved a 13-year-old juvenile. He had sexual intercourse with this juvenile.”
Clifton said the parents of the victim made a report to police officers after they discovered the relationship between Sims and their child.
