SECTION LAND
The undersigned will receive sealed bids until 2:00 o’clock p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010, for the following hunting leases for a period of five (5) years, beginning September 1, 2010 and ending August 31, 2015.
1. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 9, RANGE 4 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 9, Range 4 West, containing approximately 251 acres, currently leased to Russell Outdoors, Inc., T.Logan Russell
2.     SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 9, RANGE 5 WEST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 9, Range 5 West, containing approximately 161.5 acres, currently leased to William Martin
3. SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 11, RANGE 1 EAST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 11, Range 1 East, containing approximately 478.9 acres, currently leased to Michael Daniels & Chadwick Hathcock
4.    SECTION SIXTEEN, TOWNSHIP 12, RANGE 2 EAST
That portion of Sixteenth Section, Township 12, Range 2 East Containing approximately 397.1 acres, currently leased to Pete Pingrey & Peter Pingrey

NOTE:    By order of the Board of Education, advance payment of lease and certification of  Insurability will be required on all leases, due upon execution of Contract. (within fifteen days of awarding lease) 5% of bid amount will be made payable in the form of cashier’s check or money order at the time of bid. (Refundable if bid not successful)  A security deposit in the amount of 1 year’s tax will be paid at the execution of the Contract.  An $8.00 per acre minimum is required for the bid to be valid.    
The County Board of Education reserves the right to execute timber deeds; oil, gas and mineral leases; and deed for rights of way serving power, gas, telephone lines and public roads.    
All leases will be subject to the laws of Mississippi regarding the use of timber upon Sixteenth Section lands.
Lessees will be required to indemnify and hold harmless Lessor from any and all damages, claims or rights of action of any kind or nature whatsoever arising out of any acts of Lessees, their agents, servants, employees, guests or invitees, in the exercise of the rights granted in said lease.  Lessee will also be required to procure general liability insurance in an amount to be determined by Lessor which will name Lessor as an insured under said policy or policies to protect Lessor from any and all damages or claims arising out of Lessees acts in the exercise of the rights granted under said lease.
Bid forms shall be secured from the Office of the County Superintendent of Education.  All bids are required to be submitted on such form.
Each bidder must satisfy the Board of Education as to his ability to comply with  the term of his bid.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.

INVITATION TO BID
To all persons interested in the following described lands in Yazoo County, Mississippi, to-wit:
Entire Section 16, Township 12 North, Range 2 East, containing 640 acres, more or less.
You are hereby notified that sealed proposals to lease for oil, gas and mineral exploration and development the above described Sixteenth Section lands may be filed with the Superintendent of Education of the Yazoo County School District, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, on or before 4:00 o’clock P.M., on the 6th day of July, 2010, and you are invited to submit sealed bids specifying the bonus to be paid by the lessee for said lease. ALL BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED ON ALL THE ABOVE DESCRIBED LANDS AS A SINGLE TRACT. The form of said oil, gas and mineral lease as prescribed by said Board of Education and the terms so prescribed, including the royalty to be retained by the lessor, the annual rental to be paid by the lessee, and the primary term of the lease, is now on file and available for inspection in the office of the Superintendent of Education of the Yazoo County School District at Yazoo City, Mississippi, where it may be inspected by all interested parties. The sealed bids submitted will be opened at 6:00 o’clock P.M., or as soon thereafter as conveniently possible, on the 6th day of July, 2010, at a regular meeting of the Board of Education of said School District. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids; but if any bid is accepted, the Board will award said oil, gas and mineral lease to the highest bidder in the manner provided by law.
