County offers terms for rubbish pit agreement

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

The Yazoo County Board of Supervisors approved terms for an interlocal agreement with the city in which the county would provide $4,500 monthly for the operation of the city’s rubbish pit.
Board attorney Jay Barbour presented a document to the board Monday that outlined the terms of the agreement. The board voted to send the agreement to Yazoo City’s Mayor and Board of Aldermen for approval.
Yazoo City officials originally budgeted for the county to pay $9,500 monthly for the rubbish pit. City leaders arrived at that figure without consulting county officials.
