Jones claims letter to PSC was illegal

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

An alderman said he felt left out of city business when a letter was sent to the Public Service Commission without his knowledge.
Ward 3 Alderman Clifton Jones said a revised letter to the PSC in reference to the school district’s utilities was sent without the board’s approval.
“Where did this letter come from,” Jones asked, during a special called meeting this week. “How was it created? I was not aware of this.”
Mayor McArthur Straughter said a revised letter based on the board’s previous request was sent to the PSC.
