City searches for communication equipment

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Dispatch and radio communication discussions continue with city leaders as they welcome another firm’s proposal this week.
Charles Grant, with Communication Specialists, appeared before the Board of Mayor and Alderman this week to discuss the options available to the city with radio and dispatch communication.
“We are here to see how we can help you,” Grant said.
The board said the first thing they would like to do in the field of communication is purchase radios for the street department. With an outdated system, the department has no radio communication at the time. They communicate via cell phones.
