Mavs’ seniors to lead the way

By TAYLOR MITCHELL
Sports Editor

Three members of the Manchester Academy baseball team have signed national letters of intent to play collegiate baseball this past month. While baseball is a team sport, the expectations are high for the Mavericks in the upcoming season and they’re in a position to exceed those expectations.
Seniors Ben Fouche, Demarcus Mahone, Will Bearden and David Coody bring plenty of experience to the mound and will be looked at as the leaders of the Mavericks.
“They are going to tote the load most of the time,” Manchester head coach A.J. Downs said. “They’ve been playing since they were in the eighth or ninth grade.”
