The Four Seasons Garden Club held its February meeting at the home of Mary Kay and Chat Phillips.
After the Collect and Pledege of Allegiance, President Jeanne Santmyer reminded members of the 83rd Garden Club of Mississippi State convention April 18th and 19th. This event will be held in Vicksburg at the Hampton Inn. The Inn is booked so you will have to make reservations at another hotel.
Santmyer  announced that the Garden Club of Jackson are sponsoring a home and garden tour April 12th and 13th.
Two homes and four gardens will be open.
The Garden Clubs of Mississippi 2012 flower show will be held June 8th and 9th in Ellisville. Members are encouraged to enter an arrangement not only to win or place but as a learning experience.
Guest speaker was Mary Lynn Powers from Greenville Garden Club. She is first vice president of Garden Clubs of Mississippi.
Powers gave a very interesting and informative program on Giverny, the artist Claude Monet’s gardens, located just outside of Paris, France.
Slides were also shown of the home, town, and gardens of Normandy and Omaha Beach. The pictures were from her personal collection. She and her husband and other members of her family toured the gardens from Paris.
Hostesses were Mary Kay Phillips and Imogene Erickson.
Coffee and delicious strawberry cake was served. The table was beautifully decorated with Camellias from the gardens of Imogene Erickson.
