Miss Gibbs to wed Eldridge

Miss Kristi Gibbs and Richard EldridgeMiss Kristi Gibbs and Richard EldridgeMr. and Mrs. Farris C. Gibbs Jr. announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristi Lyn, to Richard Thomas Eldridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Ainsworth of Hazlehurst and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David T. Slack Sr. of Pickens.  
Ms. Gibbs is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bischofberger of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Farris C. Gibbs Sr. of Madison.
Mr. Eldridge is also the son of Ricky Tyrone Eldridge of Flora, and the grandson of the late Mrs. Willie Betts of Flora.
Ms. Gibbs graduated from Northwest Rankin High School in 2003, where she was a member of the Varsity Softball Team. She then attended Hinds Allied Health Center in the LPN program, graduating in May of 2008. She returned to Holmes Community College in 2010, graduating with a degree in Registered Nursing in May of 2011. She is currently employed by Pax Hospice in Ridgeland as a RN Case Manager.  
Mr. Eldridge graduated from Benton Academy in 2003. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Kinesiology and continued his studies at the Hinds Allied Health Center, where he received an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science as a student in the Physical Therapy Assistant Program. He is currently employed with Oasis Health and Rehab in Yazoo City as a PTA.
The couple will exchange vows at the home of the bride’s parents on March 10, 2012 with a reception immediately following. After a honeymoon to St. Lucia, they will reside in Madison.

 
Letters to the editor

Dear Editor:
In the 6 April 2013 edition of The Yazoo Herald you published a letter from Cynthia Fuller, "Thanks to (Van) Foster for helping get bridge replaced."
After reading this lettter, I had the impression that the bridge was completed and traffic was moving along normally.  
Wrong!  Last Sunday I was on my way to homecoming at Providence Baptist Church.  I turned north onto old 49 and saw the signs that the bridge was out.  I assumed that they hadn't gotten around to removing the signs.  I expected to cross Thompson Creek on the new bridge.  When I approached the creek the road was barricaded and construction equipment was down in the creek.
Perhaps The Herald can keep us updated as to the progress being made on the new bridge.
