Local karate students place at tournament

Local students with Karate USA recently placed at the Southern Martial Arts Championship Tournament in Madison. Students of Karate USA, Yazoo City attended the Southern Martial Arts Championship Tournament on Oct. 15, 2011.
The tournament was held at Madison Middle School in Madison.
The 4-6 year old students who take Karate at The Rock-School of Martial Arts brought home trophies in both Kata and Sparring events.
Students placing in the tournament were Brody Roberts, 4, placed third in his division for Kata; TJ (Tierral) Rials, 4, placed second in Kata for his age division; Cade Kinnard, 6, placed second in Kata and third in Sparring in his age division.
TJ Rials also won State Championship in the four year old division of the Southern Martial Arts Championship.
The students are beginning preparations for the upcoming tournaments in Spring 2012.
