It was a full weekend of games for Manchester Academy on the road. However, the results weren’t what the Mavericks and Lady Mavericks were looking for.
On Saturday, the Lady Mavs fell to Leake Academy 60-35, while the Mavs won 62-51.
Powered by a 23-point effort by senior Jammie Jamison, the Mavericks jumped out to quick 14-9 lead after the first quarter and continued to stay ahead of Leake with a 15-point second quarter to lead 29-20 at halftime.
Leake’s offense came to life in the third quarter with 18 points. However, Manchester matched their 18 points to keep the nine-point deficit. In the fourth quarter, the Mavericks posted 15 points while holding off a late-rally attempt by Leake, who scored 13 points.
