Over 200 Yazoo County residents gathered in Bentonia Saturday to pray at the site where the town was forced to remove crosses from a water tower.
Bentonia Police Chief Edward “Tra” Ferrell said the he was amazed by the crowd considering the event was held on such short notice.
“It was a tremendous turnout, and I have to take my hat off to Shayne Kirk for taking charge and leading it,” Ferrell said. “He did a great job.”
Residents gathered to show support for the town, and share their faith.
