JAMES BULLOCK
James Bullock, 70, died Dec. 4, 2011.
Funeral services were Dec. 10 at St. Matthews Church of God In Christ with Rev. Chester Hicks officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Garden Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Bullock was born April 12, 1941 in Greenwood. He was a member of Word of Truth Full Gospel Church. He married his beloved Linda “Lynn” Bullock on Feb. 8, 2008.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Georgia Bullock; and a stepson, Jason L. Tripperter. Survivors include his wife, Linda Bullock; step-daughter, Yavonne Williams of London, England; stepson, Reginald Del Valle of Kingston, N.Y.; two brothers, Johnnie Williams of Greenwood and Marshall Bullock of Hope, Ark.; two sisters, Martha Lee of Yazoo City and Mary Lee Williams of Elgin, Ill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Powell, Henry Williams, Henry Campbell, Keith Sims, Samuel Campbell and Jonathan Glasper.
HELEN HENDERSON
Funeral services for Helen Hatchett Henderson, 73, were Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating.
Burial followed at Jonestown Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home.
Mrs. Henderson was born to Edwon and Etha Williams Hatchett. She attended St. Francis School and was an active member of St. Francis Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Peter” Hatchett.
Survivors include her children, Paul Edward Henderson of Yazoo City, Cassandra Henderson Johnson (David) of Owensboro, Kentucky; Herbert Earl Henderson Jr. of Chicago and Marques Eugene Henderson of Yazoo City; a brother, Edwin Hatchett Jr. (Cora) of Evans, Ga.; sister, Marjorie Hatchett Robinson (Willie) of Yazoo City; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Latiker, Ronald Johnson, Damon Robinson, Joseph Thomas Jr., L.C. Tucker Jr., Vincent Wiggins and Willie “Woody” Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers were John C. Brown, Wardell Leach, Herman Leach, Billy Joe Henderson, Eugene Henderson, Dr. William Nelson, David Joe Starling, Willie “Deuce” Wright, Aubry Brent and Charles “Skip” Wallace.
MICHAEL MORROW Sr.
Michael Dwayne Morrow, Sr., 67, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011 at River Region Hospital.
A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Morrow was born Aug. 16, 1944 in Memphis, Tenn. and lived in Satartia for many years. He graduated from Yazoo City High School in 1962 and then attended Mississippi State. Through the years, he worked primarily in civil construction for Ford Construction Co. (Dyersburg, Tenn.); Fordice Construction Co. (Vicksburg); W.G. Yates Construction Co. (Philadelphia); and Oddee Smith Contractors (Brookhaven). He retired from Oddee Smith in 2009.
He was preceded in death by his father Joe W. Morrow, Jr.
Survivors include his son Michael Dwayne Morrow, Jr. of Spokane, WA; his mother, Roma Y. Morrow of Ridgeland; brother, Joe W. Morrow (Glenda) of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Judy M. Walton of Mobile, Ala.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association. The family expresses special thanks to the doctors and nurses of River Region Hospital and to Betty Green Morrow of Yazoo City.
