County rejects city’s rubbish pit request

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Things took a dramatic turn amongst county and city leaders when the negotiation of financial obligations to a newly opened rubbish pit came to the table this week.
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen arrived at the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors open meeting Monday morning to discuss the county’s contribution to the city’s new rubbish pit.
Ward 4 Alderman Aubry Brent Jr. was already at the meeting when Mayor McArthur Straughter and aldermen Dr. Jack Varner and Clifton Jones arrived after their own work session. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
