ARCOLA - In a match up that was put on hold because of the Benton Academy football team’s playoff game, the Raiders nearly pulled off a second half comeback against Deer Creek Monday night, but ultimately fell short in a 42-39 loss.
Despite a pair of solid performances by Chase Ward and Bo Dickerson, who led Benton in scoring with 13 and 11 points, respectively, Benton found itself facing a 10-point deficit at halftime. Deer Creek scored 18 points in the second quarter after matching the Raiders’ seven points in the first quarter of play.
