Cox honored for fourth time this year

STARKVILLE – For the fourth time this season, Mississippi State junior defensive tackle Fletcher Cox received a weekly honor from the Southeastern Conference. Cox was named co-Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance Saturday in the Battle for the Golden Egg, the league office announced Monday morning.
The former Indian was also honored with the same award for three consecutive weeks earlier in the season. Cox, who entered the season as an All-SEC candidate, is living up to the expectations after a slow start due to injury. He has totaled 49 tackles, 12.5 which for a loss that negated 38 yards for opposing offenses, four sacks (leads all Bulldogs), a forced fumble, a fumble recovery returned for 52 yards, and one blocked kick thatcame last week against Arkansas.
