Four houses to be demolished within city

The property at 503 Calhoun Ave. has been both an eyesore and health hazard for several years. Danny Neely, code enforcement officer, said the necessary steps have been taken.
“The owners have been notified, and (today there is) a public hearing to decide whether this property is to be brought up to code or demolished with the board making that decision,” Neely said, distributing photographs of the property.
But city leaders were all too familiar with the parcel. The process for the Calhoun lot had to begin again because of incorrect procedures in the past.
