Book signing to be held at library on Nov. 26
Special to The Herald
Author Patricia Harris Henderson will be signing her first novel, Biley County, at the Conference Center in Yazoo City on Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The author is the tenth child in a family of 12. She was born in Yazoo County in the small rural town of Benton and is currently employed in the healthcare field. Born with a passion to write, she has penned her first novel of fiction portraying integration in the public school system in the rural south during the late 1960s, early 1970s. The novel is filled with racial tension and family struggles, as well as candid humor. The author attempts to take the reader on an imaginary journey in the lives of two boys, an African American, and the other Caucasian. Both are determined to maintain their friendship in spite of the turbulent time they live in.
Beulah, one of the main characters, is a force to be reckoned with. She goes against all rationale and decides to enroll her son in the all-white public school. Be a witness as this riveting tale unfolds in Biley County.
