Shannon Sudbury will step down from his position as superintendent Monday afternoon.
Sudbury announced his departure from the district at the Yazoo City Rotary Club meeting Wednesday afternoon.
He said as of 5 p.m., Oct. 31, he would no longer be superintendent of the Yazoo City Municipal School District.
Sudbury declined to comment any further on the matter but did say he would remain in the Yazoo community.
This school semester marks the second school year Sudbury has been in charge of the district.
