VICKSBURG - A week after dismantling Immanuel Center on homecoming night, the Mavericks of Manchester Academy made the journey to Porter’s Chapel where they rolled to a 42-22 victory.
“There are always things a coach can find to improve, but this was a good performance,” Manchester head coach Benny McClendon said. “We played pretty good on defense with the exception of one play that we had a break down on. Overall, I’m pleased with our performance.”
The Mavericks (7-3, 3-1) were led to victory by a pair of big performances by senior Jammie Jamison and junior Josh Peaster. Jamison found the end zone once on the ground with a 70-yard and then again with an 18-yard touchdown pass. Fellow senior Demarcus Mahone and junior Russ Allen each had six-yard rushing touchdowns, showing that Manchester’s ground attack is as good as ever.
