Many thought they were back in the old West when they noticed Gene Glasscock passing through Yazoo last week with his mule-driven wagon.
The 77-year-old Texas native passed through Yazoo County over the weekend on his journey across the country with two mules and an old fashioned home on wheels.
Glasscock travels about ten to 15 miles a day and anticipates on ending his journey in Georgia. His goal...to spread the gospel along the way.
Glasscock called Yazoo his home over the weekend, staying at the Yazoo County Fairgrounds.
There are many signatures, phrases and other writings on his wagon from his many stops during his odyssey. Although the rain may wash them off from time to time, it doesn’t take long to understand how many people he has touched with his mission.
