Benton Academy used an explosive first half while holding off a second half rally to defeat Greenville Christian 26-14 and chalk up a fifth straight victory.
Kent Manor led the Raiders with 19 carries for 205 yards and three touchdowns.
“We came out really strong, but we didn’t maintain the same intensity throughout the game,” said Raiders head coach Wayman Grantham. “I felt like we had a lot of distractions with it being homecoming, and we didn’t always play our best game. But a win’s a win. We’ll take it whether it’s pretty or ugly.”
The Raiders were immediately on the offensive as Bo Dickerson carried the ball inside the 20 on the first play of the game.
Manor followed with a 17-yard touchdown to make it 6-0 with 11:35 to go in the first quarter.
Manor was just getting warmed up.
