In front of a packed Buster Crawford Stadium for homecoming, senior running back Demarcus Mahone put on a show, despite playing with a cast on his left arm, as Manchester defeated Immanuel Center for Christian Education 42-16.
Mahone, who suffered a thumb fracture during last week’s loss to Leake, ran the ball 14 times for a season-high 205 yards and two touchdowns as he helped Manchester secure a winning season.
“He’s a trooper and kept on playing,” head coach Benny McLendon said. “The only thing we really couldn’t do was throw him the ball because it’s hard to catch with one hand. It didn’t affect our gameplan this week and, hopefully, it won’t next week either.”
