Kelley Thomas Bates, 28, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Arender officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bates was born March 27, 1983 to Hudson L. and Cookie Christian Thomas. She was a customer service representative for Farm Bureau and a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Judge Hudson L. Thomas.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Kirk Bates; a daughter, Allie Grace Bates; a  son, John Hudson Bates;  mother, Cookie Christian Thomas of Yazoo City; one brother, Bryan Hudson Thomas of Yazoo City; in-laws, Michael and Angela Bates of Yazoo City;  and one sister-in-law, Dena Bates Walker of  Brandon; maternal grandmother, Jeanelle Thomas Fratesi of Yazoo City; grandmother, Carmen Christian of Jackson; grandparents, Carol and Clete Christian of Brandon; and paternal grandmother Hilda Bates of  Flora.
Serving as pallbearers were  David Roberts, Jared Mayfield, Wade Woods, D. L. Ashley,  Andrew  Wicker and T. K. Dunn.

TERRENCE DAVIS
Terrence Toby Davis, 44, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.
Funeral services were Monday at the Yazoo City Church of Christ with Rev. Charles Ray officiating.
Mr. Davis was born Aug. 23, 1967 in Chicago. He graduated from Westinghouse High School in Chicago before moving to Yazoo City and graduating from Hinds Community College. He was working on a bachelor’s degree at Strayer University.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terrance Dale; maternal grandparents, Charles Lindsay and Lottie Hayes; paternal grandfather, Robert Perkins; and step-grandfather, John Hayes.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Patricia Perkins; sisters, Keisha Perkins and Starlett Barnes (Alvin); daughters, Sade N. Hayes, Paulina Davis and Shalon O. Davis; sons, Darrian Davis, Terrence J. Manor; fiance, Amy Cargil; and a host of other relatives and friends.

RYLEE FARROW
Rylee Elizabeth Farrow, 14 months, died Saturday Oct. 15, 2011.
Funeral services were Monday at Wyatte Baptist Church. Burial followed in Cathey Cemetery under the direction of Pate-Jones Funeral Home.
Survivors include her parents Josh and Maggie Harber Farrow of Oxford; grandparents, Michael and Margaret Harber of Benton; and Bobby and Tammy Farrow of Wyatte; great-grandparents, Troye England of Wyatte and Leslie and Vivian England of Somerville, Tenn.

ALMA JONES

Alma K. Jones, 87, died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2011 at Oasis Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Foundation M.B. Church in Holly Bluff. Burial will follow under the direction of Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 2, 1924. She was a cook and a member of New Foundation M.B. Church.
Survivors include her sons, James H. Jones and Sylvester Jones of Yazoo City; daughters, Susan E. Jones Humphreys of Yazoo City, Anna Jones Lamdarrass of Yazoo City and Lama Jones Mallett of Yazoo City.

MELISSA MARTIN

Melissa Ann Martin, 41, died Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011 at home.
Funeral services were Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Ms. Martin was born July 2, 1970 to Marshall P. Martin Sr. and Janet Bernice Martin. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Christy Martin; and a brother, Kevin Martin.
Survivors include two sons, Dylan Martin and Hunter Ray Martin of Yazoo City; her mother, Janet Bernice Martin;  and a brother, Marshall Martin Jr.

DAVID PUGH
David A. Pugh, 65, died Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at home.
Funeral services were Sunday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Dorrell officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Pugh was born March 25, 1946 in Holly Bluff to Aubrey and Hazel Jenkins Pugh. He was a truck driver for Yazoo Butane and a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Dana Pugh Ferrell of Navarre, Fla.; two sons, Dennis Bradshaw and Jimmy Bradshaw, both of Yazoo City; a brother, Jesse Pugh of Yazoo City; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

CORTEZ TATE
Cortez Correll “Noonie” Tate, 26, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.
Funeral services were Saturday at the L.T. Miller Community Center with Rev. Bruce Nix officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mr. Tate was born June 12, 1985 to Patrick Dixon and Judy Tate. He attended Yazoo City public schools.
Survivors include his mother, Judy Tate; father, Patrick Dixon; daughters, TanTanika Hill and Sydney Henderson, both of Yazoo City; grandmothers, Joanna Tate of Yazoo City and Corintha Dixon of Jackson; grandfather, Johnny Jackson (Doris) of Chicago; brothers, Joshua Tate, Darrius Tate, Jody Tate and Jarvalon Ross, all of Yazoo City; sisters, Marquita Tate, Veronica Tate, Jasmine Rucker and Alana Johnson, all of Yazoo City, and Raven Hicks of Flora; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Tate, James Tate, Rauricas Tate, Jarvalon Ross, MarKeith Moore and Terry Moore.
