Judge to decide election challenge

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Whether or not the primary  election for county superintendent of education remains valid is up to a judge now.
A hearing was held in circuit court Wednesday involving Delorris Smith’s petition to contest the primary election for superintendent with the Yazoo County School District.
Smith contested the election on Aug. 22, claiming some voters were denied the right to vote and that there irregularities at two voting precincts.
As of press time, Circuit Court Judge Isadore Patrick had not issued a ruling.
