CANTON - The Benton Academy Raiders began the season with four straight losses, but turned things around with a 19-7 win over Deer Creek four weeks. Last Friday night, though, it seemed the Raiders had taken a step backwards as Canton jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead.
Benton, however, didn’t give up and shut out Canton for the remainder of the game to claim the 17-14 overtime victory.
“It’s always good to win against a AA school,” head coach Wayman Grantham said. “The first half we played good, we were moving the ball, but couldn’t punch it in the end zone.”
