JACKSON - Yazoo City began the season strong with four consecutive victories before falling to Neshoba Central in week six. The Indians (5-2, 1-2) rebounded with a last-second victory against Canton, but failed to find the late-game magic for a second week in a row as Provine (4-3, 2-1) defeated Yazoo City 33-26 Friday night.
“It does put us in a hole,” head coach Tony Woolfolk said. “Provine was a tough team.”
Despite starting a freshman quarterback, Darrius Wright, the Indians’ offense posted 346 total yards, 178 through the air.
