A Yazoo City man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting a man several times.
Jelani Miles, 19, of 1156 Willie Brown St., was charged with murder after he turned himself into authorities this week.
Capt. Tilmon Clifton said the shooting occurred late Thursday evening during a heated argument between Miles and Cortez Tate, the victim.
“The victim, Cortez Tate, was shot on Ethel Street multiple times inside a vehicle,” Clifton said. “Miles, the alleged shooter, shot at the vehicle after an argument involving family members.”
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Tate died two days later on Saturday.
