No more Monday night parties for me

Taylor Mitchell Sports Editor Taylor Mitchell Sports EditorAs a little kid, and even as an adult today, I loved my Monday night parties. I was always ready for some football. All my rowdy friends were ready too.
Now, though, my Monday night parties won’t be the same. Thursday morning it was announced that Hank Williams Jr., mastermind of the Monday Night Football opening song, has been dropped by ESPN for comments made on a Fox News television show.
I could care less what political comments Williams made. In fact, I never heard him say anything more than what his popular football song says.
Some of my best childhood memories have “Are you ready for some football” as the background music. Monday nights were dedicated to watching Monday night football at my house. Everybody would sit down to watch it and one reason my mom and grandmother were able to watch it was because of Williams’ opening song.
